ABOUT

“Have you ever heard of being kissed by God? That’s pretty much what it is. Those 10, 3, 2, 1 second and it’s like God came down and gave you a kiss, and you just chase that the rest of your life.”

– Andy Irons, Kissed By God

Since I was a little kid, I have always been drawn to all aspects of art and as I have gotten older, creating art has become an outlet for me. It is away for me to work through my thoughts and emotions and stay present. I like taking a certain emotion into a project and seeing how it comes out on the canvas. The goal with my art is to make you feel. It doesn’t have to be what I felt when I created it, but my goal is to make you feel something. I pull inspiration from many different aspects of my daily life, for example music plays a huge role in my work. The mood of the music can often dictate what I create. I love pulling a line from an old song and recreating the emotion that phrase gives me on the canvas. I also love pulling inspiration from nature for my color palette. Nature is art, and it is amazing what you can learn from nature if you take the time to look. Lastly, I would say I draw a lot of inspiration from hieroglyphs and ancient symbols. I am in awe of these runes that have been on this earth for thousands of years and love to use them as inspiration for my own alphabet. I believe that artis the universal language of human experience. We all share this universal human experience, and yet we are all different, no two experiences are the same. Yet we can connect across different cultures and beliefs through art. So, I hope you enjoy viewing and experiencing my art as much as I enjoyed creating it!
